Who We Are
Thoughts to Ponder
The past few months have been extremely busy for my family. My 5 year old granddaughter has come to live with us for a while and with that comes a lot of changes I thought I was done with, but that is not God's plan. I won't deny that it isn't stressful at times, and my emotions run high, which brings me to my first sign from February this year...If The Devil is Knocking at Your Door--Let Jesus Answer It. Raising a 5 year old again was not in my plans at 50+ years, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that God has given me a second chance by allowing me to be, I hope, a role model for her as her young mind is learning about the world and her place in it and God's plan for her too. I can never change the mistakes I may have made while raising her mother without God in our lives, but I can let God take control of our future and let Him guide me with the wisdom to guide her to a better future in Christ.
The sign for March had actually dual meaning...Church is a Gift From God -- Some Assembly Required. My initial thought was that the "assembly" meant God's people assembling at church to celebrate and praise Him. However the winds of March had a different interpretation when they blew away some of the siding onthe front of the church! At that point we decided we couldn't put off the restoration of the outside of the building any longer and so preparation was made to begin our spring time "assembly" and resurrection of the building's beauty as a house of worship. So far, we have shored up the foundation in the sanctuary and back kitchen areas, rebuilt the back deck and siding has been removed and will be replaced with Hardy Plank Siding to preserve it's beauty and dignity for many years to come.
